An unidentified 13-year-old girl was killed and her twin sister was injured when they were struck by a pickup truck while they were sitting at the side of Coronado Hills Road on Sunday morning.
Deputy Coroner William Leard said that a pickup truck driven by 22-year-old Greg Bauman of 1600 Washingtonia Drive came over a hill at a high rate of speed and struck a disabled subcompact car before swerving across Coronado Hills Road and hitting the two girls. It was unclear whether the girls had been in the car before it was disabled, he said.
The accident took place south of La Moree Road at about 11:50 a.m., Leard said. No other information was available.
