Republic Pictures Corp. announced Monday that Russell Goldsmith has been named chairman and chief executive.
He succeeds George C. Hatch, who will “remain active” in the company and retain a seat on the board, Republic said.
The Los Angeles company also announced that it has agreed to sell $8.7 million in stock and warrants to Paragon Group, an investment partnership founded by Goldsmith. Goldsmith is a former chief operating officer of Lorimar, Culver City.
