A mature male Oriental fruit fly was found during a routine check of insect traps in San Diego County, the county’s agriculture commissioner said. The sexually mature male fly was the first fruit fly discovered this summer and was found in an orange tree in La Mesa. Additional traps were set in the area, but no other insects have been found, the official said.
