Prison Sites

After having read so much about the anti-prison-construction feeling in the Los Angeles area it was most interesting to read about a proposed prison construction site in Michigan. Seven counties in the Upper Peninsula and three in the Lower Peninsula are doing their best to have the prison built in their areas.
Among the answers given to the question, “Would you like to see a maximum security prison built in this area?” was this one:
“I went to high school in an area with two maximum security prisons within 10 miles and you were never safer than when there was a prison break because there were cops everywhere. Otherwise, you never knew the prisons were there.”
