Azusa Pacific Holds Off Master’s in Soccer

Azusa Pacific College beat The Master’s, 2-1, in a soccer match Tuesday.
Azusa Pacific (2-1) jumped to an early lead when Juan Soto scored four minutes into the first half. Chris Bingman of The Master’s (1-2), tied the game when he headed the ball past Azusa Pacific goalie Ken Osterberg late in the first half. Eighteen minutes into the second half, Greg Beilfuss scored the winning goal on a penalty kick.
Osterberg had eight saves, four in the last 10 minutes. Master’s goalie Allen Bowden had two saves.
Azusa Pacific has won 12 of 14 games against the Master’s since 1974.
