Century Data Systems Inc., an Anaheim maker of disk drives, said that it has entered into a tentative agreement to acquire Amcodyne Inc., a privately held maker of 8-inch fixed/removable disk drives based in Longmont, Colo. The company said that it was too early to disclose the terms or the amount.
William A. Klein, chairman and chief executive officer of Century Data, said that the Longmont plant will continue to produce the disk drives and that the approximately 100 employees there will be retained.
The agreement should become final late in October, Klein said.
