Datron Systems, a Simi Valley maker of communications equipment for the government and military, said that it booked more than $8 million in orders last month.
The company said it received an 18-month, $3-million contract to provide the Air Force with telemetry tracking systems, which monitor missiles. Another $2 million in contracts was for radio communications equipment for federal agencies.
Datron also said it will provide the Air Force with an optical positioning system for lasers to be used as part of “Star Wars,” the Strategic Defense Initiative. The company declined to disclose the exact amount of that 18-month contract.
For its fiscal year ended March 31, the company reported net income of $1.8 million, or 68 cents a share, on sales of $21.7 million.
