Julian Seltzer, Film Executive, Dies at 78

Julian (Jules) Seltzer, son of a pioneer film exhibitor who with his two brothers eventually became executives in the motion picture industry, died Saturday in the Motion Picture and Television Hospital in Woodland Hills. He was 78.
After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, he joined his older brother, Frank, now deceased, as director of advertising for the old William Fox circuit of theaters in New York City.
He came to Hollywood as advertising director for the Hal Roach Studios and after serving in the Navy in World War II became advertising director at 20th Century Fox.
Survivors include his wife, Marianne, and his younger brother, Walter, a retired film producer.
A funeral service will be held at noon today at Hillside Memorial Park.
