A San Ysidro man was killed Tuesday morning when his car was hit by a dump truck on Interstate 805 south of L Street in Chula Vista, authorities said.
The San Diego County coroner’s office identified the victim as Walter Hugo Ruelas, 25, a security guard. He died instantly at 7:30 a.m.
Celina Nickerson of the California Highway Patrol said the car driven by Ruelas was stopped in a northbound lane and the truck ran into it. The truck driver was not injured.
