College Roundup : Pearson Leads Fullerton to 1-0 Win Over Cal State L.A.

Scott Pearson scored the game’s only goal in the second half Tuesday night to lift the Cal State Fullerton soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Cal State Los Angeles in a nonconference match at Fullerton.
The Titans (6-9-2) will play host to UNLV Friday night (7:30) to determine the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. championship. The winner will receive an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament.
In nonconference women’s soccer:
Cal State Dominguez Hills 5, UC Irvine 0--Robyn Queen and Michele Salas each scored two goals to lead Dominguez Hills (11-0-2) over the Anteaters (8-7-2) at Irvine.
In PCAA water polo:
Cal State Long Beach 16, Cal State Fullerton 8--Doug Bolicek and Matt Fary each scored three goals for the 49ers in the Independence Park pool at Fullerton.
Long Beach is 5-3 in conference, 13-7 overall. Mark Monroe led Fullerton (0-8, 5-11) with three goals. The Titans have added a game to their schedule and will play Fresno State Friday night at 7 in Independence Park.
In PCAA women’s volleyball:
Cal State Long Beach 3, UC Irvine 0--Connie Watson had 11 kills to lead the 49ers to a 15-9, 16-14, 15-10 win in Crawford Hall at Irvine. Long Beach is 3-10 and 10-14. Irvine, which received seven kills from Sue Olszewski, is 1-11, 7-20.
In nonconference women’s volleyball:
Cal State San Bernardino 3, Christ College of Irvine 0--The Eagles fell to 8-17 after losing, 15-9, 15-4, 15-4, at Irvine.
Southern California College 3, Mt. St. Mary’s 1--Krysty Woodburn had 14 kills and 21 digs to lead the Vanguards (2-20) to a 15-4, 10-15, 15-13, 15-9, win at St. Bernard High School in Playa del Rey.
