Escondido Man Killed in Hit-Run Accident

ESCONDIDO — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Valley Parkway here Friday night.
Robert Joseph Winstead, 21, of Escondido, was walking south on Valley Parkway south of Lake Wohlford Road about 8:35 p.m. when he was hit, an Escondido police spokeswoman said. He was taken to Palomar Hospital, where he died Saturday morning.
Any witnesses are asked to contact Officer Norm Schneider of the Escondido Police Department Traffic Division.
