The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has officially declared the death of Sam Bonanno, who played football for La Verne Bonita High, the result of head injuries he suffered in last Thursday’s game against Gahr of Cerritos.
An investigation will continue into his medical background to determine what effect, if any, the medical history might have had.
