An elderly man was found stabbed to death in his apartment Thursday morning by his housekeeper, authorities said.
Deputy Coroner Everett Mauger identified the victim as Richard Robert Finney, 75, who lived in the 300 block of East Mission Avenue. He had been stabbed in the head and chest.
Escondido police said a maid from Finney’s housekeeping service called the Fire Department at 8:27 a.m. to report a medical emergency. When firefighters arrived, they immediately notified police.
