DOUGLAS, Ariz. — State prison inmates went on a rock-throwing rampage after an inmate was forced to have his hair cut, officials said.
About 100 inmates in the medium-security Apache Unit began throwing rocks Wednesday night, breaking several windows and lights at the facility, after Michael Masoner was forced to have his hair cut.
The disturbance began about two hours after acting Capt. Charles Perkins had Masoner handcuffed and, in front of other prisoners, cut his hair, Corrections Department spokesman Michael Arra said.
