Dante C. Fabiani, the retired president of Crane Co., on Tuesday was named acting chairman of the board and acting chief executive of San Diego-based Northview Corp., succeeding troubled arbitrageur Ivan F. Boesky. Fabiani joined the Northview board in 1984. Boesky resigned as chairman and chief executive of the hotel operating company upon disclosing a settlement of insider trading charges brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
