Four people received minor injuries Friday morning in the Willowbrook area when a Southern California Rapid Transit District bus driver reportedly lost control while trying to avoid a truck, hit a pickup, a block wall and then a pine tree.
RTD spokesman Marc Littman said the bus was southbound on Willowbrook Avenue shortly after 7 a.m. when a truck suddenly pulled in front of it at 130th Street. The bus swerved, went across railroad tracks and struck the rear of a pickup truck waiting at a stop signal before crashing into the wall and the tree.
About two dozen passengers were on the bus. The injuries were minor, said a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokeswoman.
