Armstrong: No Presidential Bid

WASHINGTON — Sen. William L. Armstrong (R-Colo.) announced today he will not seek the 1988 Republican presidential nomination, saying there are already a number of candidates “well prepared to carry the GOP banner.” He claimed a “number of people” had urged him in the last several months to seek the nomination.
