Mission Chemical Co., in business for 46 years, has been sold to three members of the Carlson family, the former co-owners of the company that once operated the Mr. Parts chain of automotive parts stores. Kevin, Todd and Gregory Carlson bought Mission Chemical Co. from Jack Henderson, who will become the firm’s new general sales manager. Until September, 1985, the Carlsons and their father, John, owned San Diego Pacific, which operated under the names of Mr. Parts and Sunbelt Distributing. That firm was purchased by Beverly Hills-based Cardis Corp., the largest auto parts distributor in California.
