Burma

“On the whole, Burma doesn’t seem like such a bad place after all,” so said Jonathan Freedman in his letter to The Times (Jan. 12).
I encourage Freedman to visit Burma and wander about a while if he is able to get a visa valid for a stay longer than the usual seven days.
He will find the country to be a big Gulag-like prison where 30 million citizens are kept at bay by an army of 100,000 under the despotic tyrannical rule of Gen. Ne Win.
