A Fullerton man will face charges of involuntary manslaughter and drunk driving as a result of an accident in which his car struck a center divider on Imperial Highway, crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with the car of a 60-year-old driver who was killed in the crash, police said.
Charles H. Harris, 26, was eastbound about 6 a.m. Friday on Imperial Highway near Viking Avenue when he apparently lost control of his Dodge Charger and slammed into a car driven by Donald R. Wise, also of Fullerton, Lt. Jim Winder said.
Wise was pronounced dead at the scene by Fire Department paramedics, and Harris was airlifted to UC Irvine Medical Center with a punctured left lung and fractured ribs, Winder said.
Harris was listed in fair and stable condition at the hospital.
