Marine Base and Developers

I am in agreement with the Marine Corps captain who wrote about the relocating of the Marines (Letters, Feb. 22).
First, this base has been here a lot longer than the developers, planning commissions and the home buyers around the area.
People who buy in this area surely know there is a Marine base near them.
I too feel it is shortsighted. It is the greed of the uncaring developers.
I vote for the Marines to stay.
