BIO-DEGRADABLE

There’s a tidbit of information missing from the press kit to “Heat,” the new Burt Reynolds action film from New Century/Vista Films. Make that a key bit of info--the director’s bio. “Heat” director R. M. Richards is in the credits, but his bio is curiously absent (while the kit has room for profiles of all sorts of obscure actors from the pic).
Could this glaring oversight have anything to do with Richards’ lawsuit against Reynolds, which was filed after an altercation during production?
No one seems to know for sure. We called New Century’s distribution arm, which denied any knowledge, suggesting we phone New Century Entertainment, its production wing. They, in turn, told us the press kit was put together by their distribution arm, who finally gave out an official, “No comment.”
So, for the record: The filmography of R. M. Richards (he used to be known as Dick) includes “March or Die,” “The Culpepper Cattle Co.” and the remake of “Farewell, My Lovely.”
