Orange County Prep Baseball : Holdridge’s 2 Homers, 7 RBIs Spark Ocean View to 11-8 Win

David Holdridge hit a pair of three-run home runs to lead Ocean View High School to a come-from-behind 11-8 Sunset League victory over host Huntington Beach Saturday.
The victory moved Ocean View (3-0, 6-3) into a first-place tie with Edison.
Holdridge, who had seven RBIs, hit a three-run homer to right-center field in the seventh inning to send the game into extra innings tied at 8. In the eighth, after a single by Eric Christopherson and a walk to Matt Bertram, Holdridge hit a towering homer to left-center field.
Vic Fresca hit a solo homer in the third inning for the Oilers. Brad Walker had a double and two RBIs and Shawn Fraley had two doubles and an RBI for Huntington Beach (1-1-1, 8-3-1).
Mike Fyhrie (3-0) pitched the last two innings, striking out five, to pick up the win.
In another Sunset League game:
Westminster 5, Marina 3--The Lions (1-1-1, 7-1-1) scored three runs in the first inning at Marina and stopped a late Mariner rally to move into a third-place tie with Huntington Beach. Dan Villegas had an RBI double, Ben Mendoza an RBI triple and John Betz an RBI single in the first inning. John Gonzales (3-0) pitched five innings, struck out four and gave up one hit and no runs to earn the victory.
In the Angelus League:
Bishop Amat 5, Mater Dei 1--After Kevin O’Conner hit a home run to lead off the bottom of the first for the Monarchs, Bishop Amat (2-0) settled down for the victory at Mater Dei. J.R. Phillips scattered six hits for Bishop Amat in the complete-game victory. Mater Dei (2-1, 6-3) left 10 men on base.
