Whitlinger Wins Tennis Title in Mission Viejo

Top-seeded Tami Whitlinger of Neenah, Wis., rallied for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over unseeded Laxmi Poruri of Upland Saturday in the championship match of the 18-and-under division of the Seventeen Magazine Tennis Tournament of Champions in Mission Viejo.
Other winners, as the 12th annual four-day tournament at the Marguerite Recreation Center came to an end, were unseeded Kimberly Po of Los Angeles in 16-and-under and top-seeded Erika deLone of Lincoln, Mass., in 14-and-under.
Po beat third-seeded Ann Grossman of Grove City, Ohio, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, and deLone topped sixth-seeded Jennifer Nasser of Arlington Heights, Ill., 6-3, 6-0.
