Starlets to Face Sports Writers in Charity Softball

It’s only an exhibition game, but the Hollywood Starlets are taking it seriously.
“I guarantee we’re going to win,” said Lori Tideman, manager of the Starlets.
Tideman has been working her players extra hard this week in preparation for the charity softball game against a team comprising Times Valley edition sports writers and actors from the KTLA sitcom “Charles in Charge.”
The game will be played at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Woodland Hills Recreation Center, 5858 Shoup Ave. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted for the American Cancer Society.
The Valley-based Starlets are warming up for their national tour this summer. The actresses and models will play celebrity teams before the start of minor league games. Aside from athletic ability, the Starlets demonstrate singing and dancing skills during the games.
“We’ve really been practicing our dance numbers,” Tideman said.
But how about their hitting? “Just bring a lot of softballs,” she said.
Among the TV actors participating are Willie Aames and Josie Davis.
