Hawthorne : Paramedic Tax Considered
The City Council tentatively approved placing a tax proposal on the November ballot to raise $300,000 for a new Fire Department paramedic unit.
The proposed tax would be $1 per month per residential unit or house, and most likely would be collected at the same time property taxes are paid, City Manager R. Kenneth Jue said.
A simple majority would be needed to approve the new tax. The council will discuss the proposal at its July 13 meeting.
