$50 Million Raised for Nicaragua

WASHINGTON — Quest for Peace, a group opposed to the Reagan Administration’s policy in Nicaragua, said today that it has reached half its goal of sending $100 million in aid to the people there.
The Rev. William R. Callahan, a Jesuit priest serving as the group’s coordinator, said a cargo container loaded at a news conference put the group over the $50-million mark. He said the container’s contents are being called “the Ollie North Reparations Shipment.”
