Sen. Kennedy Injured in Freak Car Accident

WASHINGTON — Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.) suffered minor head and leg injuries Wednesday night when a tree fell in front of the car in which he was riding, his office said today.
Kennedy struck his head on the car’s windshield when the tree fell on George Washington Parkway as he was being driven home from a Senate session, an office aide said. Neither Kennedy nor his driver required hospitalization.
