A man shot through the neck at his motel room was reported in guarded condition Tuesday at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana.
Duc Hoang, a 27-year-old Milpitas resident, made it more than 100 feet from his second-floor room to the manager’s office after he was shot Monday evening in an Anaheim motel, officials said.
Hoang described his assailant before being taken by helicopter to the hospital. Police said they are looking for a white man, 25-30 years old, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. He was wearing a blue and white shirt at the time.
Hoang was shot once with an unknown-caliber weapon at about 8 p.m. at the Calico Motel, 500 S. Beach Blvd., police said. Police have established no apparent motive.
