An Oct. 6 trial date was set in San Diego for the NBA’s lawsuit against the Clippers and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in April reversed a lower court ruling, saying the league could go to court on its claim that restrictions on team moves were valid under antitrust laws.
The NBA filed the suit in 1984, challenging Clipper owner Donald Sterling’s right to move the club from San Diego to Los Angeles without league approval.
