Soviet television crews will return the favor, sort of. A nine-hour series on Spain’s best-known fictional figure, Don Quixote, will begin filming on the windmill-dotted plains of La Mancha in September, a Soviet diplomat said. Soviet cultural attache Oleg Pichuguin told Reuters it would be the first Soviet production to be filmed in Spain. The $16-million series will be directed by Georgian theater and film director Revaz Chjeidze.
