It is with deep disappointment and cynicism that I am writing this letter concerning the recent dismissal of KTTV Channel 11 news anchor Tony Cox and the resignation of news manager Marcia Brandwynne. I simply don’t understand why these people were let go. I found their style of reporting the news friendly but not too folksy, informative, but not condescending, concise but not shorthanded--and above all, in a news market where sex and sensationalism are the core of most newscasts, they were credible. I personally do not know Cox or Brandwynne, but as newscasters, they were welcome in my home. I will miss them.
