Cat Deaths

I have never been so horrified as when I read an article (Metro, Nov. 6) about a man from Torrance who, after an argument with his girlfriend, put her two cats into the microwave oven.

What shocks me even more is that the term of imprisonment and amount of fine for what amounts to a double murder is so small! This man is so inhumane that he should not be permitted to walk freely among us.

When will people realize that we are here to “share” this planet with animals and that they are in our care to protect and love. No animal would ever treat another in this manner.

It really comes down to a question of which, in reality, is the higher species--those who act like beasts and call themselves humans or those harmless creatures we dare to call beasts?
