Sigrid Wolf of Austria won the World Cup super-G race, and teammate Sylvia Eder finished third at Sestriere, Italy, handing the highly rated Swiss women’s ski team its second setback of the meet.
Yugoslavia’s Mateja Svet was runner-up for the second time in as many races this season and moved into the lead in the women’s overall standings with 40 points.
American Edith Thys skied her best World Cup race ever, finishing seventh.
