KHJ-TV Channel 9 will add an 8 p.m. newscast to its weeknight lineup beginning Jan. 11, the station has announced. The half-hour program, to be seen in addition to its “9 O’Clock News,” which has been shortened to a half-hour, will be co-anchored by KHJ veteran Tom Lawrence and the newly hired Lonnie Lardner, formerly with KABC-TV. Lardner won a Golden Mike in 1986 for her live coverage of the Cerritos airline crash.
