Former Tennessee quarterback Tony Robinson is welcome to join the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League after he finishes his jail term for cocaine charges, a team official said.
“If the kid wants to play up here, we will give him an opportunity,” said Mike McCarthy, player personnel director of the Ontario team.
Robinson has already served six months of his nine-month term. A judge granted him a temporary release to pursue a career in professional football earlier this fall, when he played with the minor league Richmond Ravens and for the Washington Redskins in one game while NFL players were on strike.
