A pit bull dog attacked and bit a man walking along an East Los Angeles street early today, hospitalizing the victim with head and back wounds, authorities said.
The unprovoked attack occurred in the 4700 block of Telegraph Road in the unincorporated county area of East Los Angeles at about 3:15 a.m. as Eddie Robles walked west along the street, sheriff’s Deputy Hal Grant said. Passers-by came to Robles’ aid. They chased the animal away and called the 911 emergency line for help, Grant said. Deputies from the East Los Angeles sheriff’s station searched the area but were unable to find the dog.
