College Basketball Roundup : Montana Women Rout Irvine, 76-54; Second-Half Surge Sinks Anteaters

UC Irvine’s women’s basketball team dropped its fifth game of the season, losing, 76-54, to Montana (4-0) in a nonconference game at Bren Center Saturday.
Natalie Crawford led the Anteaters with 15 points and eight rebounds and Lisa McLeod led Montana’s starters, who were all in double figures, with 22 points. UCI trailed by one point at the half, but Montana went on a 14-3 scoring run midway through the second half.
In another women’s basketball game:
Whittier College 77, Pacific Christian College 31--In a game at Cal State Fullerton, Pacific Christian trailed the entire way and dropped to 0-3. Debbie LaGrow and Kris Dodson led Pacific Christian with 12 each, and Whittier’s Patty Palmer led her team with 22 points.
In men’s basketball:
Pacific Christian 81, Arizona College of the Bible 64-- Pacific Christian (12-2) won the Arizona College Invitational. Guard Brian Keiser, the tournament’s most valuable player, scored 16 points and forward Burt Lalk scored 16 points.
Redlands 78, Southern California College 72--Center Mike Lightfoot scored 18 points, but SCC lost at Redlands, dropping to 3-4. Forward Jim Bellaire led Redlands (5-2) with 19 points.
