Fearful of landslides after a strong earthquake in Japan, police ordered 122 people to leave their homes in two towns of Chiba prefecture, where hillside cracks up to 20 inches wide and 165 feet long have been discovered. The earthquake Thursday, measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale, caused two deaths, 59 injuries and extensive damage in Chiba, where more than 20,000 households were still without water through the weekend. Police ordered the evacuations in the towns of Naruto and Matsuo.
