Hospitals and the Poor
If the Valley hospitals that want to discontinue accepting Medi-Cal patients (the elderly, blind, deaf, mentally ill, etc.) deny their services to those sick unfortunates, those hospital administrators, staff, et al., are sicker than those sick people to whom they are denying service. It makes me ashamed to be a member of a society that has such little compassion for the poor and the handicapped who are on Medi-Cal, because there is no way in hell they can pay for medical treatment on their own.
