Officials in East Texas allowed about 150 people evacuated after a train derailment to return home but shut down the city of Marshall’s water intake valves because of fears that chemicals leaking from the train may have tainted water supplies. Twenty-two cars on a 37-car Union Pacific train derailed Saturday afternoon and several burst into flames about eight miles north of Marshall near Woodlawn in a rural area. The tracks apparently were weakened by heavy rains, a railroad spokesman said. One car continued to burn Sunday.
