Clever Secret was placed first in the $91,350 Aqueduct Handicap after favorite King’s Swan was disqualified for interference at Aqueduct Race Track in New York.
King’s Swan Antley crossed the finish line a half-length ahead of second-place Clever Secret but was disqualified and placed fourth in the field of nine for brushing Native Wizard in the stretch.
Clever Secret covered the 1 1/16 miles on the fast track in 1:45 1/5 to earn $54,810 for owner Eugene Klein. The victory was the fourth in 21 starts this year for Clever Secret, who returned $30.60, $12 and $12.
