Michigan football Coach Bo Schembechler, who underwent quadruple bypass heart surgery Dec. 15, said he intends to return to coaching but also hinted that he would be willing to become the university’s athletic director.

“My plans are to coach,” said Schembechler, 58, who added that he “would not go on the road recruiting.”
