Rohr Industries announced it will add a $9-million, 180,000-square-foot assembly facility to its existing 154,000-square-foot plant in Foley, Ala., to handle orders for jet engine nacelles, or engine casings, for commercial and military aircraft.
After the June completion of the building, Rohr employment in Foley will increase to 400 from the current 350.
Headquartered in Chula Vista, Rohr has been on an aggressive plant expansion program for the last year. The aerospace manufacturer increased its total plant space in 1987 by 17% to 5.4 million square feet. The expansion is a result of increased commercial jet aircraft orders, the company said.
