Fracturing of Laguna Niguel
The letter by Lynn Dawson (Jan. 17) failed to reveal her status as a resident of Niguel Shores and a coastal taxpayer activist for Dana Point.
While her status as a coastal resident is now undisturbed, many thousands of us who were lured to “Sea Country” and live as close as three-quarters of a mile from the ocean are forced to respond to an undesirable fracturing of our historic community of Laguna Niguel.
Neither the Laguna Niguel Community Council nor the Task Force for Incorporation desires to delay the Dana Point incorporation. They can proceed without our coast. We merely seek to retain our coastal identity and the financial resources there to finance a city that will have the ability to deal with development on a local level.
