Casting ‘Angels ‘88’

If someone held a gun to my head and told me I had to cast the new TV show “Angels ‘88,” I probably would do something like pick three women who could act (Outtakes, by Connie Benesch, Feb. 28).
I found it interesting to notice the requirements of the “professional” casting directors: “. . .modern hairdos . . . less hair . . . redhead with a very short, almost boyish haircut . . . a trendy short haircut . . . straight dark brown hair . . . ash-blonde . . . shining black hair to the middle of her back . . . blonde with long straight hair . . . redhead or auburn haired . . . dark-haired . . . blonde with cropped haircut like a man. . . .”
I can hear their Emmy acceptance speeches now: “Thank you, Vidal. . . .”
