Local News in Brief : Cudahy : Assistant Manager Resigns

Maynard Law, 45, is resigning as Cudahy assistant city manager effective Friday. Law is leaving his post to become executive director of the Hub Cities Job Training Consortium, a new public agency formed by the cities of Bell, Cudahy, Huntington Park, Lynwood, Maywood and South Gate.
Cudahy will not hire another managerial employee to replace Law. City Finance Director Jack Joseph, 39, will assume the new title of assistant city manager / finance director with no increase in salary. At the same time, the city is recruiting an entry-level administrative assistant for Joseph to handle routine matters formerly taken care of by Law.
