6 Hours and 31 Innings Later, Cypress Wins, 1-0

Cypress College scored a run in the top of the 31st inning to defeat Riverside, 1-0, Wednesday, ending the longest softball game in the history of the Orange Empire Conference.
The game, at Riverside, started at 3 p.m. and ended at 9:06.
Priscilla Villagomez singled, stole second base and scored on a single by Dee Shephard. Cypress, which had 18 hits, left 20 runners on base. Sandy Mathis pitched all 31 innings for Riverside.
Noel Parker pitched the first 12 innings and Colleen Moore the final 19 for Cypress. The pair limited Riverside to nine hits.
