Quarterback Doug Williams, who led the Washington Redskins to a 42-10 victory over the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl, will undergo arthroscopic surgery today on his left knee.
Williams hurt his knee in the first quarter of the Super Bowl when he fell backward on the slippery turf at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium. He will have the operation in Birmingham, Ala.
