Britain Plans Revisions in Air Traffic Control

LONDON — The Civil Aviation Authority announced a $38-million plan Wednesday to make Britain’s overcrowded skies safer.
Under the new scheme, some traffic control work now done at London’s busy international Heathrow and Gatwick airports would be switched to a control center west of the capital--enabling controllers to handle more traffic in the London area.
